Fifteen residues, five of them proline. That proline content is unusual and it is part of why the molecule is stable as a dry powder.

The molecular weight above is the expected mass on a mass-spec result. If a report's observed mass reads 1419.5 or 1419.6, identity has been confirmed. If it reads 1,400 or 1,450, something is wrong regardless of what the purity line says.

At 1,419.53 g/mol, a 5 mg vial is about 3.52 micromoles and a 10 mg vial is about 7.04. The calculator has both sizes and the molecular weight preset if you want a volume it does not list.

Handling

Water down the inside of the glass, never onto the powder, then swirl. Shaking foams it and foam means shear. A clean BPC-157 solution is clear and colourless; cloudiness or particles that will not dissolve mean check the report before you go further. Dry powder lives in the freezer at -20°C for months or the fridge for weeks. In solution it lives in the fridge, out of light, and never through a second freeze. Reading its report

Four things, in this order. The observed mass, which should be 1419.5 g/mol give or take. HPLC purity, which for a batch we ship is 99% or higher. The batch number, which should match the code on the vial. And the name of the lab that ran it.
