Tesamorelin and ipamorelin: why they are paired
A full-length GHRH analog and a selective ghrelin agonist in one vial. What each half does, how it compares to the CJC-1295 pairing, and molar concentrations.
Published September 23, 2026
Tesamorelin and ipamorelin act on two different receptors, and they are sold together because research protocols study them together. Tesamorelin is a full-length GHRH analog; ipamorelin is a selective ghrelin receptor agonist. Our blend holds both in one vial, 1:1 by mass.

Two peptides, two receptors
Growth-hormone release responds to at least two separate signals. Growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) acts on the GHRH receptor. Ghrelin acts on a different receptor, GHS-R1a. Tesamorelin is a GHRH analog and ipamorelin is a ghrelin receptor agonist, so the pair covers one of each. That is why a protocol studying growth-hormone signalling reaches for both rather than choosing between them.
What each half is
| Tesamorelin | Ipamorelin | |
|---|---|---|
| Class | GHRH analog | Ghrelin receptor agonist |
| Receptor | GHRH receptor | GHS-R1a |
| Length | 44 residues | 5 residues |
| Stabilised by | N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl group | Non-natural residues (Aib, D-2Nal, D-Phe) |
| Molecular weight | 5135.90 g/mol | 711.85 g/mol |
| CAS | 218949-48-5 | 170851-70-4 |
Tesamorelin keeps the whole 44-residue GHRH chain and adds a small cap at the start that slows enzymatic breakdown. Ipamorelin is a short pentapeptide known for selectivity: in the study that first characterised it, it did not raise ACTH or cortisol the way GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 did.
Tesamorelin or CJC-1295 as the GHRH half
We sell two GHRH-plus-ipamorelin blends, and the difference is the GHRH half.
| Tesamorelin | CJC-1295 no-DAC | |
|---|---|---|
| Chain | All 44 GHRH residues | First 29 residues |
| How it is stabilised | N-terminal cap | Four amino-acid substitutions |
| Molecular weight | 5135.90 g/mol | 3367.90 g/mol |
Tesamorelin is 53% heavier, so at the same milligrams it is about a third fewer molecules. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin covers the other blend, and sermorelin vs tesamorelin vs CJC-1295 compares the whole GHRH family.
Same milligrams, different molecule counts
Our tesamorelin and ipamorelin blend comes in two vials: 5mg of each peptide, or 10mg of each. Ipamorelin is 7.21 times lighter than tesamorelin, so a 1:1 vial by mass holds about 7.2 ipamorelin molecules for every tesamorelin molecule. That is a wider gap than in the CJC-1295 blend, where the figure is 4.7.
After reconstitution the difference shows up in molar concentration:
| Vial | Water | Each peptide | Tesamorelin | Ipamorelin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5mg + 5mg | 1 mL | 5.00 mg/mL | 0.97 mM | 7.02 mM |
| 5mg + 5mg | 2 mL | 2.50 mg/mL | 0.49 mM | 3.51 mM |
| 5mg + 5mg | 3 mL | 1.67 mg/mL | 0.32 mM | 2.34 mM |
| 10mg + 10mg | 1 mL | 10.00 mg/mL | 1.95 mM | 14.05 mM |
| 10mg + 10mg | 2 mL | 5.00 mg/mL | 0.97 mM | 7.02 mM |
| 10mg + 10mg | 3 mL | 3.33 mg/mL | 0.65 mM | 4.68 mM |
The blend calculator works on the vial's total milligrams. For each peptide, halve its mg/mL figure, and use the molecular weights above for molar values.
Checking the vial
A blend has two identities to confirm, so its report should show both peptides, each with its own mass and purity result: one near 5135.90 and one near 711.85. The QR code on every pepuro vial opens the report for the batch that vial came from. How to read a peptide lab report explains each line.
Every tesamorelin and ipamorelin vial from pepuro ships free, from our Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver distribution centers, the same business day your e-Transfer clears, with a QR code on the vial that opens its independent, third-party lab report.

Frequently asked questions
Why are tesamorelin and ipamorelin paired?
+
They act on two different receptors that both feed into growth-hormone release. Tesamorelin acts on the GHRH receptor and ipamorelin on the ghrelin receptor. Research protocols pair them to study both signals at once.
How is tesamorelin different from CJC-1295?
+
Tesamorelin keeps all 44 residues of GHRH and caps the N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group. CJC-1295 keeps only the first 29 residues and swaps four amino acids instead. Tesamorelin is the heavier molecule, 5135.90 g/mol against 3367.90 for CJC-1295 no-DAC.
What is the ratio in pepuro's tesamorelin and ipamorelin blend?
+
One to one by mass. The smaller vial holds 5mg of each peptide and the larger holds 10mg of each. Because ipamorelin is about 7.2 times lighter, the vial holds about 7.2 ipamorelin molecules for every tesamorelin molecule.
Can I buy tesamorelin and ipamorelin separately?
+
Yes. pepuro sells tesamorelin in 5, 10 and 20 mg vials and ipamorelin in 5 and 10 mg vials, as well as the blend. Separate vials let a protocol set its own ratio.
