CJC-1295 and ipamorelin vs tesamorelin
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin is a two-peptide pair; tesamorelin is one GHRH analog. How they compare, where IGF-1 LR3 fits, and the masses that tell them apart.
Published October 7, 2026
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin is a pair of peptides acting at two different receptors, while tesamorelin is a single peptide acting at one of them, so the fair comparison is tesamorelin against the CJC-1295 half of the pair. Both CJC-1295 and tesamorelin are analogs of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Ipamorelin is a ghrelin receptor agonist, and a tesamorelin vial has nothing in its place. IGF-1 LR3 turns up in the same searches, and it belongs to a different part of the pathway altogether.

What is in each vial
| CJC-1295 no-DAC + ipamorelin | Tesamorelin | |
|---|---|---|
| Peptides in the vial | Two | One |
| Receptors | GHRH receptor and GHS-R1a | GHRH receptor |
| GHRH analog | GHRH(1-29), four substitutions | GHRH(1-44), N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl group |
| Molecular weight | 3367.90 and 711.85 g/mol | 5135.90 g/mol |
| Vial sizes we sell | 10 mg (5 + 5) and 20 mg (10 + 10) | 5, 10 and 20 mg |
The blend is 1:1 by mass and covers two receptors in one vial. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin explains why the two are studied together and gives molar concentrations after reconstitution. A tesamorelin vial covers the GHRH receptor only.
Tesamorelin vs CJC-1295: the GHRH half
GHRH is 44 residues long, and the first 29 carry its full activity. The two analogs take that hormone in opposite directions.
- CJC-1295 no-DAC, also sold as Modified GRF (1-29), keeps the first 29 residues and swaps four amino acids for ones the trimming enzyme cannot cut. With no drug affinity complex, its half-life in research models is around 30 minutes.
- Tesamorelin keeps all 44 residues and caps the N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group to slow enzymatic breakdown.
Tesamorelin is 53% heavier, mostly because of the 15 extra residues. Sermorelin vs tesamorelin vs CJC-1295 sets both against sermorelin, the unmodified 29-residue fragment. The blend uses the no-DAC form, and CJC-1295 DAC vs no-DAC covers how the two forms differ.
Tesamorelin can also take CJC-1295's place next to ipamorelin. We sell a tesamorelin and ipamorelin blend, 1:1 by mass, in 5 mg + 5 mg and 10 mg + 10 mg vials. Tesamorelin and ipamorelin covers that pairing.
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin vs IGF-1 LR3
The two searches overlap because all three molecules sit on the growth-hormone axis, but at different points on it. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are secretagogues: they act at receptors that signal for growth-hormone release. Insulin-like growth factor 1 sits downstream of growth hormone, and IGF-1 LR3 is an analog of that downstream hormone.
| CJC-1295 no-DAC + ipamorelin | IGF-1 LR3 | |
|---|---|---|
| Class | GHRH analog plus ghrelin receptor agonist | Analog of insulin-like growth factor 1 |
| Position on the axis | Upstream of growth hormone | Downstream of growth hormone |
| Length | 29 and 5 residues | 83 residues |
| Molecular weight | 3367.90 and 711.85 g/mol | 9117.60 g/mol |
| Vial sizes we sell | 10 and 20 mg | 0.1 and 1 mg |
IGF-1 LR3, CAS 946870-92-4, carries an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-residue extension at the N-terminus. Both lower its affinity for IGF-binding proteins, which leaves more of the peptide free in research models. It is studied in cell-growth and IGF-signalling research. At 9117.60 g/mol it is the largest molecule on this page, and it is sold in far smaller vials.
Same milligrams, different molecule counts
Label figures are in milligrams, but IGF-1 LR3 is 12.8 times heavier than ipamorelin, so the same label figure holds very different numbers of molecules.
| Amount | Peptide | Molecular weight | Amount in µmol |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg | CJC-1295 no-DAC | 3367.90 g/mol | 1.48 |
| 5 mg | Ipamorelin | 711.85 g/mol | 7.02 |
| 5 mg | Tesamorelin | 5135.90 g/mol | 0.97 |
| 1 mg | IGF-1 LR3 | 9117.60 g/mol | 0.11 |
A 10 mg blend vial holds the first two rows. A 5 mg tesamorelin vial holds about two thirds as many GHRH-analog molecules as the CJC-1295 half of that blend. The ipamorelin handling guide has reconstitution and storage notes, and what is a peptide blend? covers what a blended vial does and does not tell you.
Checking the vial
Each of these peptides has a distinct mass, so the observed-mass line on a lab report separates them:
- CJC-1295 no-DAC near 3367.90
- ipamorelin near 711.85
- tesamorelin near 5135.90
- IGF-1 LR3 near 9117.60
A blend report should list two peptides, each with its own mass and purity line, and state the ratio measured for that batch. How to read a peptide lab report walks through each field.
Every CJC-1295 and ipamorelin vial from pepuro ships free, from our Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver distribution centers, the same business day your e-Transfer clears, with a QR code on the vial that opens its independent, third-party lab report.

Frequently asked questions
CJC-1295 ipamorelin vs tesamorelin: what is the difference?
+
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin is a pair of peptides that act at two receptors, the GHRH receptor and the ghrelin receptor. Tesamorelin is a single GHRH analog, so it lines up against the CJC-1295 half of the pair, not the whole thing. Ipamorelin has no counterpart in a tesamorelin vial.
Is tesamorelin the same as CJC-1295?
+
No. Both are GHRH analogs, but CJC-1295 no-DAC is the first 29 residues of GHRH with four amino acids swapped, at 3367.90 g/mol. Tesamorelin keeps all 44 residues and adds an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl group, at 5135.90 g/mol.
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin vs IGF-1 LR3: what's the difference?
+
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are secretagogues that act at receptors signalling for growth-hormone release. IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-amino-acid analog of insulin-like growth factor 1, which sits downstream of growth hormone. It is a different class of molecule, about 9117.60 g/mol, and is sold in 0.1 mg and 1 mg vials.
Can tesamorelin be paired with ipamorelin instead of CJC-1295?
+
Yes. pepuro sells a tesamorelin and ipamorelin blend, 1:1 by mass, in 5 mg + 5 mg and 10 mg + 10 mg vials. The only change from the CJC-1295 blend is which GHRH analog fills the first half.
How do I tell these vials apart on a lab report?
+
By the observed mass. CJC-1295 no-DAC reads near 3367.90, ipamorelin near 711.85, tesamorelin near 5135.90 and IGF-1 LR3 near 9117.60. A blend report should show two mass lines, one per peptide.
