Is CJC-1295 the same as ipamorelin?

CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two different peptides at two different receptors. How they compare, and how to reconstitute and store the blend.

Published October 4, 2026

No, CJC-1295 is not the same as ipamorelin. They are two separate peptides that act at two separate receptors: CJC-1295 is a 29-residue analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), and ipamorelin is a 5-residue ghrelin receptor agonist. The mix-up comes from the shelf. The two are so often sold as a single blended vial, labelled something like "CJC/IPA", that the names start to sound like one product.

CJC-1295 vs ipamorelin, side by side

The two have almost nothing in common chemically. CJC-1295 no-DAC is the first 29 residues of GHRH with four amino acids swapped so enzymes break it down more slowly. Ipamorelin is a short synthetic chain, and three of its five residues are non-natural.

CJC-1295 is about 4.7 times heavier, so a mass-spec line on a lab report separates them on the first read. Ipamorelin's closest relatives are GHRP-2 and GHRP-6, not CJC-1295, and GHRP-2 vs GHRP-6 vs ipamorelin compares that family.

Why CJC-1295 and ipamorelin get treated as one product

Growth-hormone release in research models is driven by more than one signal. CJC-1295 works on the GHRH side, ipamorelin on the ghrelin side, and studying both at once is the reason the pair exists. CJC-1295 and ipamorelin: why they are paired covers the reasoning and the molar ratio inside the vial.

Two naming details add to the confusion:

  • "CJC-1295" on its own can mean either the DAC or the no-DAC form. Blends with ipamorelin use no-DAC. The DAC form is 3647.15 g/mol, and CJC-1295 DAC vs no-DAC shows how to tell them apart on a report.
  • A blend is a packaging format, not a new molecule. The vial holds two peptides side by side, each with its own identity. What is a peptide blend? explains what that means for testing.

How to reconstitute a 5mg or 10mg CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend

The technique is the same as for any freeze-dried vial: wipe the stopper, run bacteriostatic water down the glass wall, and swirl gently until the powder is gone. Never shake. How to reconstitute a lyophilized peptide has the full method.

What changes with a blend is the arithmetic. Start by reading the label correctly. "5mg" or "10mg" can describe the total powder or the amount of each peptide, depending on the seller. pepuro labels the total, so the 10mg vial holds 5mg of each peptide and the 20mg vial holds 10mg of each. Divide the total by the water volume, then halve it for each peptide:

VialWaterTotal in solutionEach peptide
10mg (5 + 5)1 mL10.00 mg/mL5.00 mg/mL
10mg (5 + 5)2 mL5.00 mg/mL2.50 mg/mL
10mg (5 + 5)3 mL3.33 mg/mL1.67 mg/mL
20mg (10 + 10)1 mL20.00 mg/mL10.00 mg/mL
20mg (10 + 10)2 mL10.00 mg/mL5.00 mg/mL
20mg (10 + 10)3 mL6.67 mg/mL3.33 mg/mL

Equal milligrams are not equal molecule counts. At 2 mL in the 10mg vial, CJC-1295 sits at 0.74 mM and ipamorelin at 3.51 mM. The blend calculator works from the vial's total milligrams.

Where to store a CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend

A blend is stored exactly like a single-peptide vial. The ipamorelin handling guide and how to store research peptides give the same rules, and they apply to both halves of the blend at once:

  • Dry, sealed vial: a freezer at around -20°C for months, or the fridge for a few weeks. Keep it dark and dry.
  • Reconstituted vial: the fridge at 2 to 8°C, on a shelf rather than the door, where the temperature swings. Plan to use it within a few weeks.
  • Freezing a solution: split it into single-use aliquots first, so no portion goes through repeated freeze-thaw.
  • On arrival: a parcel that arrives at room temperature is normal. Freeze-dried powder travels without a cold pack.

Checking that the vial holds both

Because a blend carries two identities, its lab report should list two lines: CJC-1295 with an observed mass near 3367.90 and ipamorelin near 711.85, each with its own HPLC purity at 99% or higher. The batch number should match the vial, and a named lab should have run the test. How to read a peptide lab report walks through each field. If you would rather set your own ratio, the single vials of CJC-1295 (no-DAC) and ipamorelin are sold separately.

Every CJC-1295, ipamorelin and blend vial from pepuro ships free from our Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver distribution centers, the same business day your e-Transfer clears, with a QR code on the vial that opens its independent, third-party lab report.

Frequently asked questions

Is CJC-1295 the same as ipamorelin?

+

No. CJC-1295 is a 29-residue GHRH analog of 3367.90 g/mol (no-DAC form) that acts at the GHRH receptor. Ipamorelin is a 5-residue ghrelin receptor agonist of 711.85 g/mol that acts at GHS-R1a. They are often sold together in one vial, which is where the confusion starts.

What is the difference between CJC-1295 and ipamorelin?

+

Class, receptor, length and mass. CJC-1295 is a modified fragment of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, while ipamorelin is a short synthetic secretagogue built for selectivity at the ghrelin receptor. CJC-1295 is about 4.7 times heavier, so a mass-spec report tells them apart immediately.

How do you reconstitute a 10mg CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend?

+

The same way as any lyophilized vial: bacteriostatic water down the glass wall, then swirl gently until the powder dissolves. pepuro's 10mg vial holds 5mg of each peptide, so 2 mL of water gives 5 mg/mL in total, or 2.5 mg/mL of each peptide.

Is a 5mg CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend 5mg of each?

+

It depends on how the seller labels the vial, so check. A label can state the total powder or the amount of each peptide. pepuro labels the total: the 10mg vial is 5mg + 5mg and the 20mg vial is 10mg + 10mg.

Where should a CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend be stored?

+

Keep the sealed, dry vial in a freezer at around -20°C for the long term, or in the fridge for a few weeks. Once reconstituted, keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C, away from the door, and plan to use it within a few weeks. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw.
