Glutathione reconstitution calculator

Glutathione ships as a 500 mg vial of lyophilized powder. Pick the size, type the water volume, read the concentration. The molecular weight is already filled in, so the molar result is there too.

Concentration = peptide mass ÷ diluent volume. Molarity = (mg/mL ÷ g/mol) × 1000. Research use only.

What the numbers mean for Glutathione

Glutathione has a molecular weight of 307.32 g/mol (C10H17N3O6S). So 500 mg is about 1630 micromoles, whatever volume you dissolve it in. At 250 mg/mL that is 813 mM.

Sequence: ECG (gamma-glutamyl). The expected mass on the vial's mass-spec result is the molecular weight above; a match within a tenth of a percent is the identity check passing.

The vial holds 500 mg of powder and no diluent. Add bacteriostatic water down the inside of the glass, swirl, and do not shake. The reconstitution guide covers the handling; this page covers the arithmetic.

Common questions

How much water do I add to a 500 mg vial of Glutathione?+

Any volume that gives a concentration you can measure easily. 1 mL gives 500 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 250 mg/mL, 5 mL gives 100 mg/mL. The peptide amount stays 500 mg whatever you add.

What is the concentration of Glutathione 500 mg in 2 mL?+

250 mg/mL, which is the same as 250 µg/µL. With a molecular weight of 307.32 g/mol that is 813 mM.

Where does the Glutathione molecular weight come from?+

The reference value on the product's Specifications tab, 307.32 g/mol. The observed mass for the vial you receive is on its own lab report, which the QR code on the vial opens.
